When
you finally pull yourself away from the comfort and beauty of the front
porch, you step
into the welcoming arms of a home that has seen much love and laughter.
The décor recalls the simple times of the past, yet modern amenities
are plentiful. Each of White Hall Inn’s six rooms contains central
heat and air, a television, telephone, and ceiling fan, as well as private
bath facilities.
As you enter the Inn from the front porch, the
Jasmine Room is on the first floor to your left, across from the parlor.
Floor to ceiling windows create an open, airy feel as early morning light
filters into the room and bathes the cucumber yellow walls. After rousing
yourself from the queen size bed with feather topper, or when eying the
comfy covers during the cool of the evening, you are welcome to warm
yourself by the private fireplace. Shower for two.
Our most popular room, the Geranium Room,
is just past the Jasmine Room on the main floor. The two rooms have
a connecting door for families and friends who are visiting together.
With high ceilings, an ornate iron bed, and a fireplace, the stage
is set for romance. Or simply for sleeping and relaxing. Floral walls
in lively colors invite you to dayream. An elegant claw-footed tub
and oversized shower add to the old-time charm.
Moving up the stairs, the Lilac Room is on your right-hand side. Two
queen-sized beds provide space for larger parties or just to stretch
out on your own. In either case, the fluffy comforters will keep
you warm on cool evenings, and the whimsical decorations will leave
a smile on your face as you drift off to sleep amidst the warm lavender.
The Hydrangea Room, one of four rooms located off of a reading porch,
is situated across from the Lilac Room. Make yourself at home with
a good book, or let the pale blue hue and colorful quilts calm your
senses. A claw-footed tub and shower are at your disposal.
The Mountain Laurel Room, at the front of the house off of the second-floor
rocking porch, affords wonderful views of the Little Tennessee River
Valley and the city of Dillard. A tranquil green lends a slightly masculine
touch to the room. You may choose to while away your time in the rocking
chair, the writing area, or the claw-footed tub. All await your pleasure.
The Rose Room also overlooks the valley from the upstairs, allowing
you to unwind from your travels of the day. Deep red colors call you
to relax, let your cares melt away, and refresh yourself for the next
day’s adventures. Thick, soft towels at the claw-footed tub and
the warm feather topper on the queen-sized bed invite you to rest in
luxury.
For
guests who care for a more rustic feel, we offer two cottages located just
outside of the main Inn.
A coffee maker and small refrigerator provide
some modern comforts.
The Loft harkens back to cabin living, with a porch
and rocking chairs to take advantage of the pleasurable mountain breezes.
Inside, you will dream of the beautiful views as you sink into the queen-sized
brass bed with warm feather topper.
The Tool Shed sets your mind to wandering, back to the time of the Inn’s
construction over 150 years ago. Actual tools are part of the décor,
as is lumber from the initial reconstruction and paneling milled from lumber
off of our own property. Enjoy the two-seat swing on the little porch,
reminisce about your own history, and make plans for tomorrow.
